Health Care Quality and Compliance

Effective July 1, 2025, the Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance (HCQC) will be transitioning to a new department.

HCQC, which licenses and regulates health facilities, medical laboratories and personnel, dietitians, music therapists, and permits some environmental health in Nevada, will be moving out of the Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH). This transition is authorized by Senate Bill 494, passed during the recent legislative session to establish a new department, the Nevada Health Authority (NVHA).
