I am a licensed naprapath, do I require a buisness license?
An individual who becomes licensed as a naprapath and wants to open a practice (business) in Nevada, must also obtain a State Business License or Certificate of Exemption by visiting SilverFlume, Nevada's Business Portal.
NOTE: You can conduct your annual State Business License renewal at SilverFlume Nevada's Business Portal.
How to become a licensed naprapath in the State of Nevada
There are two avenues for becoming a licensed naprapath in Nevada:
1) Initial Naprapath Application (use this if you have graduated from a Division of Public and Behavioral Health approved program of naprapathy education AND you are not licensed as a naprapath in the District of Columbia or any state or territory of the United States
2) Naprapath by Endorsement (use this if you hold a corresponding valid and unrestricted license to practice naprapathy in the District of Columbia or any state or territory of the United States.)
All new and existing naprapaths must use the Nevada Online Licensing System to become a licensed naprapath in the state.

1) Initial Applicaiton Checklist for Naprapathy License
- A copy of your social security card, or if you do not have a social security card, your individual taxpayer identification number, a copy of your W2 or other official document that has either your social security number or taxpayer identification number.
- A copy of your driver’s license or other governmental issued document that has your date of birth. You must be at least 21 years of age to apply.
- A sealed copy of your transcripts issued by a Division of Public and Behavioral Health approved program of naprapathy education. Verify your school is approved by going to the Naprapathy Program of Education, Approved Programs of Education section and see if your school is on the list; OR contact your school and have them email your transcripts directly from the school to: individuallicensing@health.nv.gov.
- Mail sealed transcripts to:
- Division of Public and Behavioral Health
- Naprapathy Licensing Unit
- 500 E Warm Springs Rd. Suite 200
- Las Vegas, NV 89119
- Proof that you passed the National Board of Naprapathic Examiners naprapath exam.
- Proof of professional liability insurance with a minimum coverage of $200,000 for each claim and a minimum aggregate amount of $600,000 for each year.
- Upload two letters of recommendation, each of which must be from:
- A naprapath who is licensed in this State, the District of Columbia or any state or territory of the United States at the time the letter of recommendation was written and who has personal knowledge of the moral character and competence of the applicant or a physician who is so licensed and who has such personal knowledge.
- The letter of recommendation must include the contact information for the person making the recommendation.
- $500 fee: Visa, MasterCard, or Discover card (2.45% service fee applies) or eCheck (no service fee) .
- After submitting your applicaiton, complete the background check instructions for Naprapathy licensing.
2) Naprapath by Endorsement Checklist
- A copy of your social security card, or if you do not have a social security card, your individual taxpayer identification number, a copy of your W2 or other official document that has either your social security number or taxpayer identification number.
- Proof of professional liability insurance with a minimum coverage of $200,000 for each claim and a minimum aggregate amount of $600,000 for each year.
- Proof of licensure to practice naprapathy in the District of Columbia or any state or territory of the United States. This can include a copy of your license or a screenshot of the State's licensure verification page showing you are licensed.
- NOTE: All information provided will be confirmed with the State that issued your license to practice naprapathy. You may be required to contact the State, if necessary, to obtain proof of licensure directly from the State that issued your license.
- $500 fee: Visa, MasterCard, or Discover card (2.45% service fee applies) or eCheck (no service fee).
- After submitting your application, complete the background check instructions for Naprapathy Licensing
If you are an active member of, or the spouse of an active member of, the Armed Forces of the United States, a veteran or the surviving spouse of a veteran, in addition to the above information:
- If active member - a copy of your DD2-14 or a letter from your commanding officer on military letterhead indicating you are currently serving in the Armed Forces.
- If spouse of an active member - a copy of your spouse's DD2-14 or a letter from your spouse's commanding officer on military letterhead indicating your spouse is currently serving in the Armed Forces AND a copy of your marriage certificate.
- If a veteran - a copy of your DD2-14.
- If the surviving spouse of a veteran - a copy of your spouse's DD2-14 AND a copy of your spouse's death certificate.
Registration as a Teacher, Advisor or Supervisor Checklist
NOTE: A person who is not licensed to practice naprapathy may practice naprapathy in this State for not more than 1 month in a calendar year as part of his or her duties as a teacher, advisor or supervisor in a program of education in naprapathy or a program of continuing education for naprapaths if the person registers with the Division as a teacher, advisor or supervisor.
