Continuing Education Requirements
1. To renew a license, each licensee must successfully complete a total of 30 hours of continuing education that satisfies the requirements of subsection 3 below, with a minimum of 3 hours of continuing education in ethics, during the 12 months immediately preceding the expiration of the license.
2. Each applicant for a license who was previously licensed in this State must have
successfully completed, during the time that has lapsed since the applicant was most recently licensed in this State, a total of 30 hours of continuing education that satisfies the requirements of subsection 3 below, with a minimum of 3 hours of continuing education in ethics, for each period of 12 months that has passed since the applicant was most recently licensed in this State.
3. To satisfy the requirements of this section, a course of continuing education must:
- Be approved or provided by an accredited school of naprapathic medicine in the District of Columbia or any state or territory of the United States;
- Be approved or provided by a governmental entity that licenses naprapaths in the District of Columbia or any state or territory of the United States;
- Offer a certificate of Category 1 credit as recognized by the American Medical Association that is relevant to the practice of naprapathy, as determined by the Division;
- Be approved by a governmental entity that licenses providers of health care in the District of Columbia or any state or territory of the United States and that is relevant to the practice of naprapathy, as determined by the Division;
- Be provided by an accredited college or university that offers courses relevant to the practice of naprapathy, as determined by the Division; or
- Be recommended by the Advisory Board and approved by the Division.
Note: If you have any questions as to whether a course you take is relevant to the practice of naprapathy, please contact individuallicensing@health.nv.gov and request a determination be made. The Division will perform random audits of licensees to ensure compliance with the requirements of continuing education and will notify you if it determines a course is not relevant to the practice of naprapathy.
