The Division of Public and Behavioral Health and Division of Emergency Management are presenting the course Incident Command System Overview for Executives/Senior Officials (ICS 402) this spring. This class will cover the Incident Command System and Emergency Operations Centers. In particular, the role that public health and the healthcare system will play in a large or small-scale emergency. The class will be 12 hours long over the
course of two days. There will be a tabletop exercise on the second day.
This course is intended for individuals who are or could be decision makers or assign personnel during a public health or healthcare system emergency. The prerequisite for this course is ICS 100; recommended courses are ICS 200 and ICS 700. These courses are available at https://training.fema.gov/is/.
Day 1 of this course will be held on the following dates around the state:
- Feb. 23-24: Health Care Quality and Compliance, 727 Fairview Dr., Suite E, Carson City
- March 22-23: Division of Welfare and Supportive Services, 3330 E. Flamingo Road, Room 56, Las Vegas
- May 24-25: Lyon County Executive Offices, 27 S. Main St., Yerington
- May 31-June 1: Winnemucca Police Dept., 500 E. Winnemucca Blvd., Training Room, Winnemucca
- June 7-8: EMS Office, 1020 Ruby Vista Drive, Elko
- TBD - a final class will be held in the Reno/Carson City area
