ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (EH) PERMITS IN HEALTH FACILITIES

The Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance (HCQC) permits food establishments within Nevada licensed medical and non-medical health facilities in accordance with NRS (Nevada Revised Statutes) Chapter 449, Chapter 446, Chapter 444 and with NAC (Nevada Administrative Codes) Chapter 449, Chapter 446 and Chapter 444:

    FOOD ESTABLISHMENT PERMITS

    A Health Facility licensed for more than 10 residents/clients/beds must apply for a commercial food establishment permit through the Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance.

    Health facilities defined under the above food establishment laws and regulations must apply for a commercial food permit with HCQC. Please contact HCQC EHS at EHSHCQC@HEALTH.NV.GOV before submitting your food establishment application for further information regarding the food permitting process.

      Food Establishment Plan Review

      To apply for a commercial food permit to operate a new food establishment within a Health Facility with more than 10 residents/clients/beds or remodel an existing permitted food establishment within a Health Facility, please complete the following applications:

        POOL & SPA PERMITS

        Commercial Swimming pools and spas within health care facilities and facilities for the dependent regulated by the Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH) Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance (HCQC) are required to obtain a permit per Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) and Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 444. NAC 444.100 requires that any person desiring to construct a new pool or spa, or remodel an existing pool or spa, submit an application to the Health Division that is accompanied by plans and specifications.

        EH PERMITS IN HEALTH FACILITIES CHANGE OF OWNERSHIPS (CHOW)

        During a Health Facility change of ownership, all Environmental Health permits must be amended to reflect the new ownership. This process will include a scheduled CHOW inspection for each permit. Please contact HCQC EHS at EHSHCQC@HEALTH.NV.GOV for scheduling and further information.
