Child Care Statutes and Regulations
Chapter 432A of both Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) and Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) govern and regulate child care facilities in Nevada. Child Care Licensing program staff are responsible for enforcing these laws and regulations through the licensing and inspection processes.
New Laws Affecting Child Care Licensing - 2017 Nevada Legislature
The 2017 session of the Nevada Legislature resulted in several new laws affecting various aspects of child care facility operation and licensing. Child Care Licensing staff held a series of informational seminars to educate providers of the requirements of these new laws, and below is a PDF of the slides used during those seminars.
Child Care Development Block Grant regulations
Changes to group size and ratio standards, injury/accident reporting, training requirements and other requirements for child care facility licensing go into effect Feb. 1, 2018. These regulation changes bring Nevada into compliance with the Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG) Act of 2014. On Sept. 21, 2017, the Nevada Legislative Commission approved the regulations needed for the Child Care Licensing staff to enforce the grant requirements.
