Vision of AIM

The Alliance for Innovation in Maternal Health (AIM) is funded through a cooperative agreement between the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), Health Resource Services Administration (HRSA). AIM core bundles include:

  • Obstetric Hemorrhage
  • Severe Hypertension in Pregnancy
  • Safe Reduction of Primary Cesarean Birth
  • Obstetric Care for Women with Opioid Use Disorder
  • Cardiac Conditions in Obstetrical Care (In Development)
  • Postpartum Discharge Transition Bundle (In Development)

For more information go to the National AIM website.

    Nevada AIM

Nevada AIM had its Kickoff event June 24, 2021. The kickoff event was tailored for leadership of Nevada’s 18 birthing hospitals and provider champions and provided an opportunity to learn about AIM’s structured way of improving processes of care and patient outcomes. Facilities choosing to participate will be able to access data to compare Nevada hospitals on defined benchmarks, join targeted trainings, and receive guidance and information on evidence-based practices to prevent maternal mortality.

For those of you who missed the AIM kickoff event, you can view the recording here and find the associated presentations and Facility Readiness Tool (FRAT) under the resources tab.

Nevada's first AIM core patient safety bundle is Severe Hypertension in Pregnancy. This bundle will begin October 1st, 2022. To enroll or to find out more information about enrolling as a participant facility, contact Tami Conn at tconn@health.nv.gov, Max Moskowitz at mmoskowitz@health.nv.gov, or Vickie Ives at vives@health.nv.gov.
