External Resources
Survey and Certification (S&C) memoranda: Published by the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), these memoranda provide guidance, clarifications and instructions to CMS providers, state survey agencies and CMS regional offices. As a state survey agency, the Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance (HCQC) ensures that medical facilities in Nevada are in compliance with federal law and regulations. S&C memoranda are incorporated into HCQC processes, so medical facilities are encouraged to read S&C memoranda to stay abreast of CMS regulation information in advance of their regular state surveys.
